Sunday’s in Kijabe

We went for a church service at the African Inland Church. We sang some worship songs and learned some in Swahili. A visiting pastor from Cornerstone Baptist Church in Illinois was the preacher for the day. His message was about the importance of the presence of God in our lives. Reflecting on our trip to Kenya, creating connections with the people advancing God’s mission here, as we try to do the same in Pennsylvania has been worth while. It has been unifying to worship our God together with people who have the same goal, on the other side of the world. As we interact with each other, we have seen the presence of God in our journey.

We spent the afternoon touring Rift Valley Academy, a missionary school in Kijabe. Missy Wagner (alumni of Messiah University) invited us for lunch and a tour of the campus. We learned more about the missionary presence in Kijabe and Rift Valley Academy’s mission to teach and promote community between their students and the surrounding community and support missionaries around the world.
