Cadee and Caleb’s team were able to test their knee on a 4th patient. He liked it so much he asked to keep it, but he might have been joking a little bit.
Hayward and Ester shadowed a nurse and doctor and had an experience watching a stitch removal procedure for a young girl who had had a knee surgery. It was interesting to see the work the nurses and doctors do outside of the operating room.

In the afternoon we had a somewhat spontaneous visit to Mama Beth’s, a child welfare program up the mountain from the guesthouse (an anxiety provoking ten minute drive). We were able to see how they feed and clothe 700 local children with meals and uniforms for school. Mama Beth’s is the organization that our DWIP team worked with over spring break.

Before packing up the cars and leaving for the airport, we spent the morning at the hospital doing some housekeeping in the hospital. We worked in the kitchen, laundry and cleaning. It was great seeing the how staff support the mission of the hospital. It was certainly an interesting experience serving tea and lunch to the families in the wards. We learned from experience that the the kitchen staff can hold exceptionally hot plates.

We packed up and headed out this afternoon, expecting a bit of traffic, but we made it to the airport smoothly, only to find our flight was delayed. After hanging out at a local cafe for a while, we are excited to start our journey to London!
